Our next stop was the Mystery Spot outside Santa Cruz, about a 70 mile drive from Colma. Odie thought it necessary to document this part of the trip.

After breaking for lunch, we went over the hills and down to Santa Cruz. Well, we missed the exit and had to find the information bureau in the surfer town to figure out what we did wrong. Eventually we got our bearings and headed into the surrounding forest. Posted on a tree a corner of the main access road, I saw a sign that said, “Tree 18, Cars 0.” I wish I had a picture of it, but alas.
