On the way back down to the Valley, we decided that we should prepare a little for the next day and actually hike somewhere. The first trailhead we found led to Taft Point and Sentinel Dome, mile long hikes in opposite directions. As we started down the trail to Taft Point, Odie thought I looked like a Sasquatch. You are welcome to make your own opinion.
Arriving at the crevices at Taft Point, we made an early hypothesis that Yosemite might be beautiful, but there were also many ways to die. We only tested this hypothesis half-heartedly.
This lizard was the first animal we were able to photograph. We did see a bear across the river on the drive in, but there were probably 50 people from 20 cars parked on the road trying to get a picture, so we continued without stopping.
Strange sight of the trip: this group of Buddhists (unconfirmed) was chanting at Taft Point while a photographer recorded the event. That person wasn’t me. They brought their own. Odie wanted a picture for himself.
With dangers such as these, Odie was pleased that someone was praying in our vicinity.
